(new haven outskirts, three days later)- we were finally going to do it. dusk and i were finally going to put slade down for good, and bring an end to his reign of terror. it felt good to know that an end was drawing near, and after i donned my armor, i bid my father and my friends farewell, before walking with dusk to the devil's claw. it was still in good condition, the cloaking field ensuring that no wildlife would try to make a nest inside the cockpit. i hopped into it without a second thought, thumbing the co-pilot's chair, a silent signal to dusk that i wanted to get this shit over with. now. dusk hopped in without question, and sealing the cockpit around us, i prepared for take-off, checking the weapons systems and shield strength, should we encounter resistance outside corneria's atmosphere. "y'know dusk, i was thinking. while death would be a really, REALLY gratifying way to end slade's life, i want to break him. turn him into nothing but an empty shell of what he was before, so that he'll never, ever try this kind of shit again. do your people know anything, a spell, a curse, or something, that might do that?" i asked my co-pilot, who put a hand to his chin in thought. "as a matter of fact, yes. i do know a curse that can send the cast upon to another dimension, but it has been a while since i've had to use it. and while it would surely disorientate slade, it wouldn't break him. unless...." dusk trailed off, but i had little time to dwell on his lost train of thought. i had a demon worshiper to kill, and i was going to make him PAY for what he did to my pack. there was no doubt about that.

(corneria orbit, two hours later)- "well, we're here. something's wrong though. i'd figure we'd get some form of response, starfox, the C.D.F., something. but the place is dead." i replied, concern for the others on team starfox (mccloud excluded, of course) filling my being, but my gaze no sooner wavered than steeled. if they were in danger, i was going to free every last one of them, and then i was going to give slade a fate even worse than death, if any one of them had been hurt. "let's do this." i growled, and without even a moment's pause to think over my actions, i punched it, full throttle, toward corneria. it was time for ALL of this to end.

(corneria surface, three minutes later)- we'd no sooner touched down on the planet when my HUD began to pick up friendly IFF signatures, and popping the canopy of the devil's claw, i leapt to the ground, drawing my rifle off of my back, and cocking it with a snarl. i looked up toward the signatures from my crouched position to find a group of C.D.F. soldiers pinned down by what i could only guess were demons, and no sooner had my mind made the connection, i grinned evilly, a familiar and all-too-fitting theme playing in my head. (i'm pretty sure you guys know what song i'm talking about, but if not, here's a hint. E1M1.) running forward, i selected the rifle's burst fire mode, and started pulling the trigger, putting five rounds each into the group of four demons that were attacking the nearby C.D.F. personnel. they turned towards me at the feeling of being shot, and no sooner had they turned, did one get a boot to the face, sending the others behind it toppling over like dominoes. pulling a grenade off my belt, i stuffed it into the downed demon's mouth, and holstering my rifle, did a graceful (and really badass) backflip off of them, watching when i landed as the demon rained bony shrapnel and gore down on the other demons around it, dropping them to the ground as either an incapacitated vegetable, or a dead body. satisfied when the four dead forms didn't move, i stood from my crouched position, and crossed my arms. "suck it, you demonic fucktards. 'cause the devildog just took you morons to school." i replied confidently, turning to the C.D.F. personnel that were brushing bits of demon off of their armor. "where's slade wilson, and how do i find him?" i asked, staring the nearest trooper in front of me down to his very soul. "i-i don't know sir, we were just out for evening patrol when these things jumped us. but what we do know is, whatever these things are, they set up shop in the old C.D.F. naval base, just outside corneria city. you could try your luck there, but they might've moved on by now." the kid replied, and nodding, i put a hand on his shoulder. "what's your name son?" i asked, making the the trooper sigh. "private cairn wyatt sir, first C.D.F. devildog battalion. as a matter of fact, first commander mendoza said you would come to save our skins. truth be told, we were beginning to lose hope." the young man replied, and nodding, i pulled my hand from his shoulder, and pointed to the ground. "well private wyatt, can i trust you to keep my ship safe while my friend and i find the source of these demons? i promise, we won't be long." i asked, my tone carrying a form of dark humor. but it was kind of sad, since i was being all too serious.

(corneria city outskirts, abandoned C.D.F. naval base)- "huh. always pegged slade for an abandoned factory kind of guy. guess the naval base was just too good an opportunity to pass up. you ready dusk? shit's gonna hit the fan when we go in there, and i need to make sure you're one hundred percent before we do anything." i replied, turning to my partner, who merely nodded. "alright then. let's bring down a tyrant." i replied, drawing my rifle from my back, and cocking the arming lever. *let's see, blew 20 rounds on that group of demons, so only got 30 left. better make 'em count.* i thought, jogging up to the door to the main ops building, and taking a sticky grenade from the belt around my waist. chucking it at the door, i jumped back, bracing when the door handles came off their hinges. racing back up to the now-unlocked door, i kicked it open, looking through the sight on my rifle in case any demons were waiting on the other side. satisfied when i found none, i motioned for dusk to follow. a loud thunderclap stopped both of us dead when we heard it, and attuning my ears to the new noise, i was relaxed when it was just a rainstorm. "we're going to have to move back to back now dusk. thunderstorms muffle the sounds of enemy movement, and slade's bound to be on the offensive, now that he knows we're here." i replied, and when dusk tried to ask how i knew slade knew we were here, i just gave him a knowing glance. after all, this was slade wilson, a man that was always ten steps ahead of his enemies, for god's sake. we wouldn't have been able to get this far if slade didn't think he could take us. and sure enough, a dark chuckle emanated through the ops room, and i tightened my grip on my rifle in reflex. "well well, i was wondering when you'd return to this rock kyle. i was quite surprised when you were exodized by the cornerian military. but after all, they barely understood you, so why should they let an unstable man with an unknown past walk their streets unhindered? but the assassins, they understood you. they took you under their wing, taught you what you know now. oh yes, they understood you too well, and the templars within the cornerian military realised that having a man with highly unstable powers working against them, that could overthrow their precious government wouldn't do. so they tried to betray you. and then, when that didn't work, they tried to kill you. as a matter of fact, i'm doing you a favor, when you think about it. i've usurped the cornerian high command, and made corneria my plaything. of course, my subordinates have other plans, but i actually want to work things out peacefully, without making you bow to your new lord and ruler." slade replied, and twisting my lips into a snarl, i growled. "you and that wretched demon spawn that you serve are no rulers, wilson. you're fools. pretenders to who is really in charge of the lylat system. and do you know who they are, slade? that's right, the men and women you're forcing into slavery and oppression with your demon army. and you know what? even though corneria gave me the 'fuck off' of a lifetime, i'm here to save them today. and neither you, or that bastard demon that you serve, will stop me from completing my task. the people of lylat will rule their system once again, even if i have to take your and scath's heads off to make it so. and believe you me, slade, it WILL happen today." i replied in rebellion, holstering my rifle and summoning my fireballs to illuminate the dark ops room. "well then, if you feel so strongly about that, allow me to level the playing field." slade replied, and no sooner had the words left his mouth, did the ops room illuminate, the gigantic rectangular room illuminating in torchlight. and at the far end, blocking the rear entrance, sat a large throne made of anthropomorphic skulls, and atop that was slade, grinning like the cheshire cat. he was wearing his krymson veil armor, sans helmet, and both eyes were staring down at me with bloodthirsty evil. "so, scath gave you back your eye, huh? gee, i wonder what for. no! wait, don't tell me, i know this one. it's so that you can see him completely while he fucks you in the ass." i taunted, grinning sadistically when i saw slade's eye twitch, much to my amusement. "aww, did i touch a nerve? did the big, bad assassin get his feewings hurt?" i asked chidingly, speaking like a toddler until slade finally lost it. he leapt from his throne with lightning speed, and vanished into thin air, in a cloud of red smoke. "not gonna work slade ma boy." i replied with a shake of my head, turning on my heel and kicking slade in the gut, who had tried to sneak up behind me with his newfound teleportation skill. i grinned when slade widened his eyes in surprise at my sudden attack, and leaned in close to taunt him again. "what, you thought you'd be able to get the drop on me by teleporting? you haven't been the only one training, dumbass, i've been honing my skills as well, and if you keep this amateurish display going, methinks i'll only need half my power to whip the piss out of you." i replied, and using the momentum i gathered from my kick, i tossed slade to the ground with my leg, and laughed when he scrambled to gain his footing, still dazed by my counter-attack. but he recovered surprisingly well, and grinned darkly. "well then, i believe it's time to take off the kid gloves. because like you, i'm only using half of my power. now behold, the power that scath can unleash!" slade monologued, and rising a couple feet off the ground, slade's skin grew darker, and a pair of goat horns grew out of his head. his eyes turned solid yellow, and his originally white hair turned jet black. "really? that's it? a pigment change and goat horns? bitch please, beast boy could do that on his worst day. now, shut up and let me kick the crap out of you." i taunted, and charging forward, i punched slade in the gut, but got backhanded away, staggering me. regaining my footing, i went in again, coming back out with the same result. and slade wasn't even flinching. "well, seems like the benefits of being scath's fuckboy are paying off.  but tell me slade, do you feel fear?" i asked with a slight wince, grasping my side in minor pain. that last hit hurt more than i expected it to. "fear? assassins like myself don't know the meaning of the word." slade replied arrogantly, and smirking darkly, i removed my hand, cracking my knuckles in preparation. "then let's fix that, shall we?" i asked with a cock of my head, and without any further words exchanged, i took a defensive stance, and channeled all of my available power to the surface. the ground beneath me began to crack and split from the power spike, and grinning sadistically at slade, i could see the aura of my rah-adón begin to take effect, meaning i had successfully achieved god-form. slade raised an eyebrow at this, and went in to punch, but i caught his fist before it could connect, chuckling with a shake of my head. "oh slade, you're gonna pay for that." i replied, exchanging his fist for my own, slugging him in the face and releasing his captured hand, watching slade fly from the force of the blow, connecting with the ground HARD. "you see slade, while i was training, i achieved a form unheard of by the native populace of my homeworld. the last reported case of someone like me was three millenia ago, and that man singlehandedly defended my home from an invader so despised, that they were feared and reviled throughout the lylat system. he was also rah-kiin. and you know what? i'm going to honor his memory by turning you into a pile of paste. oh! or better yet, when i'm done kicking you around like a sack full of dead puppies, i'll have my friend dusk throw you into a dimension so horrible, so unspeakably terrifying, you'll spend the rest of eternity hugging your knees while mumbling insanities. and do you know why, slade?" i replied, walking over to slade, and picking him up by his chestpiece, holding him close to where our noses almost touched. "because not only do i want to put a stop to what you've been doing for decades now, but i want retribution for what you did to my pack. you harmed them, and nobody, absolutely NOBODY, hurts my pack and lives. and now, you'll pay for what you did." i replied, throwing slade away from me, onto the ground at my feet. he scrambled to get up, and when he did, i slugged him in the face, following up with a punch to the gut. slade recoiled at being hit in two places in such quick succession, but he got little time to dwell on it when i slammed my knee into his gut as well, making him double back in pain. going in on the attack again, i delivered a flurry of knees and kicks to his abdomen, along with punches to the head and face whenever possible. and slade didn't so much as block, he was so shocked that i managed to lay a finger on him, that he just stood there, and took the hits. but when he'd finally come to his senses, i finally got to participate in an actual fight, blocking his hits as well as dishing out my own. and to be fair, it was still pretty one-sided. but then again, scath is a demon general. he isn't a demi-god like i am, so even if he gave all of his power to slade, which he didn't, because i could see out of the corner of my eye he was giving dusk his all, slade didn't stand even a hair's width of a chance in hell against me. or at least that was what i'd thought. slade was steadily becoming harder to block as the fight progressed, and after a powerful haymaker to my gut, i backed away, clutching my stomach. "what was that about making me pay, whelp? because right now, it seems to me i'm making you pay." slade replied confidently, and growling in anger, i stopped clutching my stomach, and backed into a defensive stance again. i needed to get angry, to make my power rise to the surface. i desperately wanted to wipe that annoying smirk of slade's face, and when i remembered what i did during day three of my training, unleashing a high temperature beam of plasma, i cackled, pressing my hands, one atop the other, facing towards slade. "hey slade?" i called, charging the beam already. "what, you insolent little worm?" slade replied, and smirking evilly, my hands began to light up, signifying slade's end was near. "got to hell." i replied, before letting loose with the beam, sending it towards slade as fast as i could. but even then, slade had no time to react, and merely screamed in agony as he burned, his armor melting into his skin, while his face burned horribly. powering down my attack, i let myself relax, which also powered down my god-form. "aww, what's the matter slade, cat got your tongue? or did i vaporize your vocal chords when i plasma burst your ass?" i taunted the burnt, disfigured form of slade wilson in front of me, who could only move his lips in a quiet 'fuck you'. "well slade, it's been fun. but when i said you'd pay for hurting my pack; i meant it." i replied, drawing my sword from the sheath on my back, and bringing its point to face the ground. "you should've just left it be, mate. but no, you had to make my life a living hell." i growled, circling slade with the blade still out, aiming to intimidate him before i killed him. "with betraying my friends, selling my pack and i out to the krymson veil, and trying to take over corneria, i don't know how to end you any more painfully than this. i could just leave you here, but you'd no doubt recover and be back to harm the innocent once again. you know what?" i ranted, before stopping behind slade, and readying my sword in a stabbing position. "you'll do better as a corpse than a martyr." i replied, shoving my blade deep into slade's back until i hilted it. slade gasped silently, and smirking cruelly, i wiggled my sword around in his liquefied guts, to emphasize my point. "bats should've put you down when he had the chance." i whispered in slade's ear, and ripping my sword out of slade's back, i flicked it clean of the gore and other bodily fluids that covered it, and sheathed it once more, before kicking slade's lifeless body to the ground. "have fun in the afterlife, wilson. say hi to my uncle for me." i replied to the dead body, and looking over at dusk, i could see he was already done with his fight, cleaning his claws while using scath's lifeless body as a chair. "i was wondering when you'd get done monologuing. ready to go?" dusk replied, and nodding to him with a smirk, i followed him out, throwing an arm around his shoulder. "y'know dusk, this could be the start of a beautiful friendship." i replied, and smiled when i looked up at the sky to see that the rain had stopped, and the early morning sun was peaking out of the clouds.
